About the EHS Bandstand
"The Bandstand" is our concession stand at Emmaus High School home football games and other select events. Operated by EPIMC and staffed by parent and family volunteers, the Bandstand serves food, drinks, and snacks to students, families, and fans throughout the season.
More importantly, the Bandstand is EPIMC's largest fundraiser. Proceeds help support the Emmaus High School Band Program by providing resources and opportunities for our student musicians. Whether you can help for one game or several, we'd love to have you.
It takes a team to keep the Bandstand running — and that's where our volunteers come in.
Bandstand Volunteer Roles
Each position plays a different part in keeping orders moving and making game night run smoothly.
Cashier
Cell Phone Required
Take customer orders, call orders to the assembly team, process cash and credit card payments, answer basic menu questions, and keep the checkout area organized.
Cook
Grill hot dogs, fry French fries, monitor food temperatures and cooking times, keep cooked food stocked, and assist with equipment shutdown and cleaning.
Runner
Deliver completed orders to customers, restock drinks, ice, cups, lids, napkins, and condiments, and keep beverage coolers organized and stocked. **You may bring a responsible younger sibling - middle school and older - to work alongside you in the Bandstand. This can be a great way for younger family members to get involved and help support the band.
Assembler
Prepare hot dogs, fries, marching tacos, and other menu items, add toppings and condiments, pass completed orders to runners, restock prep items, and keep food preparation surfaces clean.
New to the Bandstand?
No experience is needed. We'll show you what to do and help you get comfortable in your role.
Volunteer Shifts
Bandstand volunteer opportunities are divided into three shift types so you can choose the commitment that works best for you.
Setup to Halftime
Starts around 4:00 PM
Help open and prepare the Bandstand, serve during the first half, and work through the halftime rush.
Halftime to Close
Starts at Halftime
Take over around halftime, serve through the second half, and help with cleanup and closing.
Feed the Band
3rd Quarter · 2 Volunteers
Serve a complimentary snack and drink to our marching band students during their third-quarter break as a thank-you for a job well done.
What to Expect
A few things to know before your Bandstand shift.
Your Shift
No experience is necessary. We'll show you where everything is, explain your role, and answer any questions when you arrive. Please arrive on time so responsibilities can be handed off smoothly between shifts.
What to Wear
Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. Volunteers should be prepared to follow basic food-safety and sanitation procedures.
Cashiers
Cell phone required
Please bring a charged cell phone for processing credit card payments through Membership Toolkit.
Younger Siblings
Responsible younger siblings are welcome to volunteer alongside a parent or guardian as a Runner. Middle and High School siblings can earn community service.
About the Halftime Rush
Halftime is our busiest time of the night. Things move quickly, but don't worry — we work as a team. Volunteers may temporarily help outside their assigned role to keep orders moving and lines as short as possible.
Can't Volunteer? You Can Still Help!
The Bandstand relies on more than volunteers. Throughout the season, we also ask families to help by donating food, drinks, and supplies. These contributions help us keep costs down so more of every sale can go directly toward supporting the Emmaus High School Band Program.
Bandstand Donations
Donation needs vary from game to game and may include items such as cases of drinks, individually packaged snacks, prepared food items, condiments, paper products, and other Bandstand supplies. For baked goods guidelines and donation information, please visit our
Bandstand Donations Guide. (COMING SOON!)
Drop-Off Information
Please drop off your contribution at the Bandstand between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. on the night of the game, or bring it to Bandstand Coordinator, Melissa Barbehenn, during Marching Band practice the Thursday before the game, between 5:45 and 6:00 p.m. Meet her in the parking lot. She will be parked outside the auditorium doors.
Let Us Do the Shopping
Don't have time to volunteer or shop? Consider a $10–$20 donation and we'll use it to purchase the food, drinks, and supplies the Bandstand needs.
Thank you! Every contribution helps keep our costs down and makes the Bandstand a more successful fundraiser for our students.
